COMMUNITY spirit has seen residents and retailers rally around to support retirees in Dunchurch.
Residents at Lime Tree Village in Cawston thanked staff at the Rugby branch of TK Maxx for a donation of dry goods, which were delivered by Leanne Curtis as the store cleared all of its food to help others.
The village was given a selection of pasta, cakes, fruit pies, coffee and chocolates for residents to share.
The residents are also enjoying prepared meals delivered to their door from a local restaurant, and have access to iPads to help them stay in touch with friends and family.
Lime Tree Village’s manager Patrick Johnson said: “It’s wonderful to see community spirit really coming into its own – championing the needs of the older population, and providing help and support to those that need it at this unsettling time.”
