Council asks public for views on Brownsover play area revamp

Rugby Editorial 11th Dec, 2020   0

A PUBLIC consultation has been launched to give residents a say on the refurbishment of a Brownsover play area.

Rugby Borough Council has confirmed plans to revamp the play area in Glaramara Close next year and wants the community to help shape the design.

The council’s environment and public realm spokesman Coun Howard Roberts said: “We know residents have been asking for a refurbishment of the play area for some time, so we’re pleased to now be in a position to start work on the project.

“Consultations form a vital part of our planning process so we can identify improvements the community want and incorporate the ideas in our draft design, so I’d encourage residents to take the opportunity to have a say.”

The council plans to deliver consultation packs to schools in Brownsover and the homes of residents living near the play area.

The wider community can visit www.rugby.gov.uk/glaramara to take part in the consultation.

The consultation closes at 5pm on Monday January 18. A draft design for the refurbishment is scheduled to be published for further consultation in the spring, with work starting on the revamp in the autumn.
