Council seeks views on car parking in Lutterworth town centre

RESIDENTS and businesses are being asked to have their say on car parking in Lutterworth town centre.

Harborough District Council (HDC) has launched a survey about parking in the district.

The council wants to hear opinions about parking availability, pricing, pay and display machines, and blue badge parking spaces.

Although the survey covers the whole district, HDC says it is particularly keen to hear about the availability of parking in Lutterworth town centre.

HDC’s Cabinet lead Coun Paul Dann said: “We want to know if there have been changes in the way people use car parks in light of Covid or the cost of living, for example.

“We’d like to hear about how people feel about parking tariffs, accessibility and vehicle use. Feedback will help us manage future improvements, such as the number of electric vehicle charge points.”

The council runs car parks in Lutterworth’s Chapel Street, George Street, Station Road and Church Close.

In recent years, the council has introduced pay-by-phone options in its car parks, more 30 minute bays, and extra electric vehicle charge-up points.

Income from pay and display machines is used to maintain and improve car parks across the Harborough district.

The survey runs until Tuesday October 18. To take part, visit www.harborough.gov.uk/parking-survey or email [email protected] to request a paper copy. Paper copies can also be collected from the council’s reception at The Symington Building in Adam and Eve Street, Market Harborough.
