COVENTRY Hospital Radio (CHR) has been shortlisted for this year’s National Hospital Broadcasting Awards.
The station has been shortlisted for the Best Station Promotion award for its on-air promotions which invite music requests from listeners.
Simon Tidmarsh, PR Officer, said: “We are over the moon that we have been nominated in Best Station Promotion this year at the Hospital Broadcasting Association Awards.
“Coventry Hospital Radio prides itself playing Your Choice, Your Music and giving the listeners a chance to hear their favourite song on the radio while either recovering here at UHCW in Coventry or from home.
“I would also like to add a big thank you to all our volunteers who give up their free time every week to keep the radio station going and keep patients entertained while they are in hospital.”
At last year’s awards, the station finished in the top ten of the five categories in which it was shortlisted, including Station Of The Year.
The awards ceremony will take place on Saturday March 21 in Bolton, celebrating the exceptional standards demonstrated by hospital radio stations across the country. This year’s ceremony also celebrates 100 years of hospital radio.
