A CRYSTAL meth manufacturer who was caught with £3,000 worth of the drug in Rugby last summer has been jailed.
Tomasz Kajut, 36, of Swan Lane, Coventry, was sentenced to eight years in prison for his involvement in the production of Methylamphetamine (crystal meth) at Coventry Crown Court, having pleaded guilty to the charge and to driving without insurance.
He was stopped by police in his car in Newton Manor Lane last June. Police found crystal meth with a street value of around £3000 and component parts used in the production of the drug.
Detective Sergeant Steve Flavell from Rugby Proactive CID said: “This is the only seizure of crystal meth that I have dealt with in my nine years working for Warwickshire Police.
“Hopefully the substantial sentence handed down by the court will send out the right message that drug offences will not be tolerated within our county, and all offenders will be dealt with robustly.”
