Date set to consider Magna Park's million square feet expansion plan

A DATE has been set to consider Magna Park’s massive expansion plans.

Harborough District Council have announced the date the planning committee will consider an application to expand the storage and distribution centre at the Magna Park business park near Lutterworth by over a million square feet.

The meeting will take place at Lutterworth High School on Woodway Road on Thursday 28 January from 6.30pm to allow its planning committee to consider the application.

The applications, submitted by IDI Gazeley Ltd, is being recommended by the council for approval, subject to a number of conditions.




The proposal entales a new 100,00sqm storage and distribution centre with offices on land adjoining and linked to Magna Park, including formation of access road from Magna Park, erection of gatehouse, creation of roundabouts, partial realignment of Mere Lane and upgrading of the A5 road to dual carriageway, creation of drainage facilities and associated infrastructure and landscaping works.

Letters are being sent out to neighbouring residents informing them of the committee date and venue.

Coun Phil King, Harborough district councillor for planning, said: “This application will be considered by the planning committee on its own merit and go through the same robust decision-making process as all planning applications. Residents are welcome to attend the committee meeting or make representations if they inform the council in advance.”
