Deaf-blind charity shop benefits from Rotary Club donation

Rugby Editorial 9th Dec, 2016   0

A DEAF-blind charity shop in Rugby has received the backing of the borough’s Rotary Club following an inspirational talk.

Sense’s charity shop based on Sheep Street received £300 from the Rotary Club of Rugby after Carl Williams, the charity’s community fundraising manager, delivered a talk to members of the Rotary during a meeting.

The national charity, which was founded more than 60 years ago, supports people who are deaf-blind, have sensory impairments or complex needs.

They provide information, advice and offer a wide range of flexible services by campaigning for the rights of the people we serve.

Rotary club president Ken Ure was delighted to donate the cash sum which will be used to benefit the charity’s Rugby shop.

Mr Williams said: “We’d like to thank the Rotary Club of Rugby Saturday breakfast for their generous donation to our cause.

“The money raised will enable us to continue our support for children and adults that are deaf-blind, and those with complex needs.”
