Delighted kids at Rugby nursery welcome the Gruffalo

DELIGHTED kids at a Rugby nursery received a special visit from one of their favourite literary characters.

The Gruffalo took a stroll to Nature Trails Day Nursery in Cawston to mark the 25th anniversary of the beloved children’s book.

Storytellers from Hunt’s Bookshop read the Julia Donaldson book to the captivated kids in the sunshine, while The Gruffalo acted out the story.

Back in the classroom, pre-schoolers took part in themed activities, including creating their very own Gruffalo masks and Gruffalo crumble, before embarking on an exciting Gruffalo hunt in the woodland area outside.

Nature Trails Business Administrator Louise Gulliver said: “This was a magical and memorable experience for our children, and we are so grateful to the wonderful staff from Hunt’s Bookshop for making this possible.

“The Gruffalo is the perfect example of a timeless story that continues to captivate children’s hearts and inspire a love of reading.”
