Deputy Mayor of Rugby quits council

Rugby Editorial 13th Jan, 2017   0

THE DEPUTY Mayor of Rugby has resigned from Rugby Borough Council (RBC).

Coun Helen Taylor quit the role this morning (Friday January 13).

Councillors were informed via an email from RBC Executive Director Adam Norburn on Friday morning, and her details have been removed from the council’s website.

She was one of three Conservative councillors for the Coton and Boughton ward, a member of the council’s planning committee, and Chair of the Rugby Conservative Association – although her LinkedIn profile suggests she has also resigned from the latter position.

She was due to take over as Mayor from Coun Sally Bragg in May.

Ms Taylor and council leader Coun Michael Stokes could not be reached for comment.
