A DRIVER was hit by a car as he walked away from his crashed vehicle on the M45 near Rugby yesterday (Monday November 29).
A grey Subaru Outback left the carriageway and hit the verge on the eastbound side of the motorway between Dunchurch and Kilsby at 7.45pm.
The driver got out of his car and was then hit by a black Mercedes E220 travelling on the westbound carriageway.
The 65-year-old man was taken to University Hospital Coventry with life-changing injuries.
Detectives from Northamptonshire Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for witnesses.
