THOUSANDS of pounds worth of suspected heroin has been seized by police from two houses in Brownsover.

As part of a planned operation, police executed search warrants at the unspecified addresses where what is believed to be heroin with a street value of around £3,000 was seized.

They also found substances thought to be cannabis and cocaine, large amounts of money and other associated drug paraphernalia.

Eight men, aged between 17 and 49, were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of drugs and possession of class A and B drugs.

They have all been interviewed and bailed until Thursday September 18, pending further investigation.

Chief Superintendent Martin McNevin said: “This operation was the result of a detailed investigation and provides further evidence of the success that Warwickshire Police is having in tackling drug dealing.

“Officers and staff are committed to protecting people from the misery and harm that drugs cause. We will continue to focus our resources in this area and work tirelessly to bring offenders to justice.”

– BURGLARS struck at a house in Kilsby last weekend, having failed to break into a neighbouring house.

The burglars tried to break into a house in Rugby Road sometime between 9am on Saturday and noon the following day.

After failing to get in, they forced their way into a neighbouring property where they searched every room and took money and jewellery.
