A DRUNK driver from Rugby has been disqualified from driving and fined after he was involved in a crash in the town.
Buddy Thompsett-Carroll, 23, of Slade Road, pleaded guilty at Leamington Magistrates Court to a charge of drink driving.
He was disqualified for 21 months and fined a total of £695, including court costs and a victim surcharge.
He was arrested at 1.20am on January 21 after his car was involved in a collision in Clifton Road.
Officers went to his home where he failed a breath test and was arrested.
Sgt Simon Dalby said: “The fact that this drink driver was involved in a collision shows how dangerous drink driving is.
“Even a small amount of alcohol can impair your judgement and slow your mental and physical reaction times. So please do not drink – or take drugs – and drive. It’s really not worth it.
“Take responsibility and plan ahead, book a taxi or go out within walking distance of home.”
