Eco-friendly automotive company shortlisted for award

AN ECO-FRIENDLY automotive engineering firm in Lutterworth has been named as one of just three finalists for a prestigious award, less than three years after launching.

Hypermotive, which is helping to deliver the next generation of zero-emission vehicles, has made the shortlist for the ‘Growth’ award in the Citi Microentrepreneurship Awards.

Established in June 2016 by Adam Huckstep and Jeremy Bowman, the company works with automotive equipment manufacturers, niche vehicle manufacturers, technology developers and the biggest names in the motorsport industry.

The 16-strong firm was originally set up to work on low carbon vehicle technologies such as batteries, supercapacitors and fuel cells.

But after a large engineering group went into insolvency, Hypermotive recruited eight highly skilled and experienced engineers and ramped up its capacity.

Adam Huckstep and Jeremy Bowman said: “It’s an absolute honour to be amongst the finalists for this growth award. It has given us a rare opportunity to stop for a moment and reflect on what we and our team have actually achieved over the past couple of years.

“We are really pleased to have been recognised as a sustainable, responsible, high growth business.”

The Citi Microentrepreneurship Awards are an annual celebration of Britain’s microentrepreneurs that have accessed responsible business finance.

The three growth award finalists are in the running for a £7,500 cash prize and international recognition. The winner will be announced at a ceremony in Liverpool on March 13.
