Events to help Rugbeians with switch to digital phone lines

CHANGES to phone landlines will be explained at events in Rugby next week.

BT staff will be at Dobbies Garden Centre on February 28 and 29 to offer help to residents with the upcoming change from analogue to digital landlines.

An industry-wide shift from analogue to digital landlines will see phone operators provide services over a broadband line by the end of 2025.

At the events, BT will explain the changes and demonstrate Digital Voice, its digital landline service.

Vicky Hicks, Senior Engagement Manager at BT, said: “We will be visiting Rugby to talk to as many customers as possible about the switch to digital landlines and answer any questions they may have.

“The landline is here to stay, and for the majority of customers, making the switch simply involves plugging your phone into a broadband router instead of into a wall-mounted phone socket, bringing new benefits such as advanced spam call blocking.

“If you feel you need additional support with the transition or you think you are vulnerable, please tell us. We will be with you every step of the way.”
