A NEW exhibition at Rugby Art Gallery and Museum will showcase works produced by a Rugby art collective during lockdown.
Works from Lockdown features artworks in various media by the Alchemy Group.
Group member Dr Urszula Szulakowska said: “Alchemy artists have made positive use of the Covid lockdowns.
“Some artists have taken a magnifying glass to their domestic world and have created visionary drawings and paintings involving realistic detail and considerable graphic skill. Others have explored their own subconscious mind and have drawn on themes from history, myth and folk-custom to produce strange worlds in painting, or in highly-original three-dimensional assemblages.
“Yet others have made jewel-like collages in miniature, using abstract shapes and colours, or they have taken to the textile arts, or ceramics to recreate the everyday world in extraordinary forms.”
Works from Lockdown runs at Rugby Art Gallery and Museum’s Floor One Gallery from October 16-28.
