FATHER Christmas had an early present for good causes in Dunchurch.
He rode his sleigh to the village to help divide up over £8,000 – raised by the Dunchurch Festival Group (DFG) throughout the year – between local groups like the Scouts, Brownies, Guides, Rainbows, local churches and schools, The WI Dunchurch Band, Care Through the Millennium and the Allotment Association.
He handed out cheques alongside DFG treasurer Fiona Stevenson in front of the newly-erected village Christmas tree.
DFG members raised the money at various events this year, including the annual Village Fete and Halloween ghost walk.
Amber Collings of the DFG said: “All these events bring the village together for fun times, promoting interaction between local groups and people. The group is made up of people who want to give something back to the community they live in.”
