RUGBY Round Table’s annual firework display – also part of the town’s Celebrate Rugby festivities – takes place on Saturday evening (November 2).

The event, the town’s biggest fireworks display, will be set to themed music to celebrate the Rugby World Cup in Japan.

This year’s display, to be held at Whinfield Park, includes children’s entertainment and hot food.

A music stage will be headlined by Courthouse, with support from Rugby Area Talent Trust artists Paul Sammon and TH Noah & The Elements.

Rugby Round Table fireworks chairman Kevin McLoughlin said: “What better way to celebrate the town’s links to the game of Rugby.

“We’re hoping that this will be a great way for rugby fans to extend the celebrations on Rugby World Cup final day, and hope to bring families together for a real treat.

“It’s very rewarding to see the money we raise each year being spent within our communities and providing vital support to local charities and community causes.

“We wouldn’t be able to make these local donations without the people of Rugby supporting our fireworks event.”

Free parking will be available at the John Barford Car Park from 3pm, with regular courtesy shuttle buses between Lawrence Sheriff School in Clifton Road and Whinfield Park.

Gates will open at 4.30pm and the display is scheduled for around 6.30pm.

Discounted tickets are available if purchased before Saturday. Visit www.rugbyfireworks.co.uk for more information.
