Five arrested in connection with Warwickshire vehicle crimes within 24 hours

FIVE people have been arrested in connection with vehicle crimes in Warwickshire in the space of 24 hours.

Officers seized a stolen motorbike from a house in Arnold Street in Rugby on Monday afternoon (May 24). The motorbike had been stolen in Rugby last week. Two men from the town were arrested on suspicion of theft.

Two men from Coventry were arrested on suspicion of theft after officers stopped a stolen van on the M6 in the early hours of Tuesday morning (May 25).

A 16-year-old boy from Birmingham was arrested on Tuesday (May 25) morning on suspicion of theft of a bike from Coventry Road, Coleshill, after the stolen bike was spotted for sale on Facebook.




Det Insp Collette O’Keefe from Warwickshire Police Proactive CID said: “Vehicle crime has a big impact on our communities. The arrests in the last couple of days and other recent arrests should reassure our communities that we are committed to taking action against those we suspect of being responsible.”
