A FORMER teaching assistant has been found guilty of a sexual offence against a pupil at the Rugby primary school where he worked.

Thomas Adam Brown, 28, of Gunton Avenue, Coventry, had pleaded not guilty to sexual assault by touching, but was found guilty of the offence at Warwick Crown Court on Thursday February 16.

Brown will be sentenced at Warwick Crown Court on March 30.

He will also be sentenced for three counts of making indecent photographs of children – for which he pleaded guilty at Warwick Crown Court last year.

Detective Constable Gavin Lambert said: “We take reports of abuse of children extremely seriously and would encourage anyone with concern over a person’s conduct towards children to report it.”

Incidents can be reported on 101 in a non-emergency or 999 in an emergency. Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers via www.crimestoppers-uk.org or on 0800 555 111.
