Free health and wellbeing advice on offer to Lutterworth residents

Rugby Editorial 4th Dec, 2023   0

FREE health and wellbeing advice will be on offer to Lutterworth residents this week.

The NHS health and wellbeing event at the Wycliffe Rooms on Thursday (December 7) will also be an opportunity for residents to comment on proposals to improve local healthcare services.

People can drop in anytime between 10am and 2pm to learn more about the proposals for Feilding Palmer Hospital, ask questions and receive support to complete a questionnaire.

Also on offer will be blood pressure checks, lifestyle advice and guidance to recognise cancer symptoms early. People can also have a general medication review and talk to people about dementia care.

Dr Graham Johnson, senior partner at Wycliffe Medical Practice, said: “There are several things we can do look after our own health and wellbeing, and this event will provide lifestyle advice to help people through the winter.

“It’s also a great opportunity to hear about our vision to provide high quality and modern services closer to home, and our proposals to help achieve that vision in Lutterworth.”

Proposals have been developed to keep Feilding Palmer Hospital open, refurbish it and expand the number of services it provides.

The plans, which will accommodate the growing population as new housing is built, will see 17,000 appointments provided every year at the hospital.
