Fun-filled festive fund-raiser helps Rugby nursery raise £1,000 to feed the hungry

A FUN-FILLED fund-raising Christmas Fayre has helped a Rugby nursery raise £1,000 to feed the hungry.

Nature Trails Day Nursery in Cawston donated the money to the Trussell Trust – the charity which supports Rugby’s Foodbank and many others across the UK.

Families gathered at the Coventry Road nursery to enjoy festive games and activities including bauble painting, gingerbread decorating, Name the Elf, a lucky dip and and a seasonal bake sale, while children visited Father Christmas and his helpers in his grotto where each child received an early Christmas present.

Throughout the year, Nature Trails teams and families have taken part in fund-raising ventures for the charity, including pyjama days, pumpkin carving competitions, summer fetes and sponsored events, as well as holding regular collections of essential food and household items to donate to Rugby Foodbank.

Nature Trails Day Nursery charity representative Louise Gulliver said: “We had a truly magical day at the Christmas Fayre and we have been absolutely blown away by the generosity shown towards The Trussell Trust.

“Over the course of this year, we’ve been dedicated to fundraising for this wonderful charity, which provides emergency food and support to those in need. We couldn’t have achieved this without the incredible support and participation of our amazing nursery community and are hugely grateful.”
