Funding on offer for Cov & Warks business projects

Rugby Editorial 28th Jul, 2015 Updated: 27th Oct, 2016   0

A FIVE year plan to help grow the economy and create jobs in Coventry and Warwickshire is being put forward.

The Coventry and Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership (CWLEP) has already secured almost £90million of funding with projects such as the Stratford Start-up Hub and Access to Coventry City Centre among those to benefit.

Now four themes – research and innovation, infrastructure, skills capital and business growth and investment – have been set out for potential projects.

And businesses, individuals and organisations with ideas that fit into any of these categories and who are looking for financial backing are being encouraged to get involved.

A full application will be required at a later date but the initial process involves an expression of interest, which must be received by noon on September 18.

Chief Executive of the CWLEP, Martin Yardley said: “We want to look ahead to funding rounds in 2017/18 and 2018/19.

“By calling for these expressions of interest early, it means we can build a picture of what projects or programmes are likely to come and where it might be possible to bid for government funding.”
