Rugby Editorial 16th Aug, 2021   0

THEY were going potty in Southam for a blooming good cause.

Southam in Bloom ran a Potty Planter Competition. Southam in Bloom does the fund raising for all of the planting throughout the town and works with a team of volunteers to plant and maintain the seasonal displays.

The event was supported by local businesses donating raffle prizes and over 20 businesses entered their own planters, which formed a walking trail throughout the town centre.

There were over 60 entries into the individual age group categories which were displayed in the Town Centre for the public to view and decide on their favourites.

The event raised more than £400 for Southam in Bloom.

The winners, voted for by the public, were:

Under 5’s joint winners Jimmy Mounteney and Jam Kangaroo

Age 5-11 – winner Bethan Swain, runner-up Molly Evans

Age12-16 – winner Evie Gardener

Adults – winner Sue Taylor, runner-up Lorraine Fox-Jones

Business – winner Co-op Funerals, runner-up Mrs Smith’s Hair
