ROBBERS armed with hammers broke into a house in Shilton and attacked the occupant.

Three thieves forced their way into the Leicester Road house on Wednesday November 7 at around 10.40pm and carried out their attack before stealing a watch.

They drove off in the direction of Bulkington or Coventry in a dark coloured saloon car – possibly a BMW 3 Series – which was parked in Bulkington Road.

The victim suffered injuries to his arm and knee.

Detective Constable Tom Willett said: “We believed this was a pre-planned attack and the offenders showed no hesitation in using violence against an innocent homeowner.

“We’re keen to speak to anyone who was in the area between 10pm and 11pm, especially if they have dash cam footage.

“We’re also keen to speak to the driver of a gold car who was driving on Bulkington Road around the time of the offence and may have been overtaken at speed by the offenders.

“The watch is a distinctive Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore. If anyone sees one of these watches for sale I would urge them to contact police.”

Anyone with information or who witnessed this incident should contact police on 101 quoting incident 453 of November 7. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
