Have your say on plans to end prescriptions for gluten-free products in Lutterworth area

GLUTEN-free products may no longer be available on prescription in the Lutterworth area if regional health bosses’ proposals go ahead.

The NHS Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Integrated Care Board (LLR ICB) is proposing to stop providing gluten free products on prescription based on a number of factors including the increased availability of gluten-free foods.

Before the plan gets the go-ahead, the LLR ICB wants to understand what it would mean for people and their families.

All patients aged 16 or over registered at a GP practice in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland are invited to share their experiences of gluten free products on prescription through a questionnaire available online.

Harborough District Council leader Coun Phil Knowles said: “I encourage as many people as possible to take part in this public consultation about changes to the prescribing of gluten free products which affects people’s health.

“If we would like the NHS to continue delivering excellent healthcare then it is important these opportunities are taken to help shape improvements.”
