Hospice charity bowled over by generous donation

Rugby Editorial 18th Dec, 2023   0

A ‘WONDERFUL’ hospice charity has been bowled over by a generous donation.

Rugby Police Bowls Club (RPBC) presented a cheque for £1,650 to Myton Hospice Care at Home, which provides palliative care to patients in their own homes.

The club chose the charity as its nominated good cause for the year because long-serving member Chris Richards lost a dear friend who was supported by Myton Hospice Care at Home.

Receiving the cheque, Myton Partnership Fund-Raiser Laura Eaton said: “Thank you so much for such a generous donation.

“This money will ensure that we can continue to deliver the best care to our patients living with a life-limiting illness and their loved ones within the comfort of their own home, completely free of charge across Warwickshire.”

RPBC Secretary Rosemarie Geden said: “Myton is a charity which is dear to me and many of our members, with many past players and their relatives having received Myton’s care, either from the Care at Home team or in their hospices.

“We are pleased once again to be able to support a wonderful charity and the people of the local communities where we play our bowls. I would like to thank all our members and our tourists who have supported the charity throughout the year.”
