A HOUSING association has recently delivered its annual Kindness Campaign, offering vital support to its customers and the community.
Platform Housing Group, one of the largest housing associations in the country, launched the campaign during the height of the pandemic in 2020.
It recently saw the organisation donate nearly £31,000 to over 55 charities and community groups, including local foodbanks, domestic abuse charities, schools and youth groups, and many more across the West Midlands.
“Platform’s campaign donations were a real lifeline to the charities and community groups who continue to struggle to cope with the ongoing increase in demand for their services.
“Our customers, like most people, are finding it hard to manage their household budget due to the ongoing cost-of-living crisis,” said Platform’s chief operations officer, Marion Duffy.
The funding was primarily used by the organisations to provide ongoing vital support, restock essential foodbank supplies and buy presents for children whose families were finding it hard to make ends meet.
Marion added: “To ensure funding reaches our most vulnerable customers, Platform use internal and external data to identify key local areas of deprivation, where we have a large number of homes and customers.”
Platform also has a £2million Wellbeing Fund that gives its customers a crucial lifeline by offering fast and flexible support if they are experiencing financial difficulties and hardship.
Essential support can help with the cost of food, energy and utility bills and bridge the gap between a customer making a benefit claim and receiving their first payment.
Support packages for household furniture and white goods, along with health and wellbeing, employment and training are also offered.
