Ingredients prepared for Rugby Food and Drink Festival

THE INGREDIENTS are prepared for this year’s Rugby Food and Drink Festival.

The annual event will take over Regent Street, Bank Street and St Andrew’s Church and Gardens on Saturday September 29 between 10.30am and 5pm.

Stalls will showcase an array of food, craft ales, ciders and wines from local businesses, farms and producers while a pop-up kitchen will feature a variety of demonstrations by local chefs.

Live music, circus skills, face-painting and other children’s activities will continue throughout the day.

Rugby First managing director Aftab Gaffar said: “The festival continues to grow in size and popularity and this year we have extended it along Regent Street and Bank Street.

“Rugby town centre has some great food and drink offers and the festival is a great way to raise awareness of them. Last year’s festival was very successful and had a significant impact on town centre footfall and we are hoping for the same again this year.”

Rugby Borough Council growth and investment spokesman Coun Sebastian Lowe said: “This is an excellent opportunity for visitors from Rugby and beyond to experience all the town has to offer in terms of food and drink.”
