Is this Warwickshire's tallest Christmas tree?

THE LIGHTING-up of what could be Warwickshire’s tallest Christmas tree has benefitted a baby hospice to the tune of £1,500.

Brandon Hall Hotel and Spa raised the cash for Zoë’s Place Baby Hospice at its first ever Christmas Tree light switch-on, after choosing to team up with the charity throughout 2018.

Guests arrived in their hundreds to watch TouchFM and RugbyFM presenters Simon Alexander and Kirsty Leahy switch the tree lights on, before the evening’s fundraising commenced with a tombola, raffle prizes, games, carol singers, hot and cold food, drinks and treats.

Father Christmas arrived in his sleigh and handed out gifts to children, and a big red letterbox was outside his grotto for children to post their letter to him.

The tree itself, at 86ft high, can be seen from neighbouring villages. A Brandon Hall spokeswoman speculated it may be the tallest in Coventry and Warwickshire, and invited any competitors in the area to make themselves known.

Brandon Hall director of sales and marketing Melanie Kerkeni added: “We were overwhelmed by the turn out on the evening, especially as this was the first event of its kind. We are already thinking about how we can make next year’s event even bigger and better.”

The hotel is holding a range of events throughout the festive period. Call the hotel directly on 02476 546 000 for more information.
