'Joyful' collection of artworks to go on display in Rugby

A ‘JOYFUL’ collection of artworks will go on display in Rugby next week.

The exhibition Artistic Expressions of Joy: from Barcelona to Warwickshire will showcase works by artists Ginte Zacharini and Jaimie Volkaerts.

It will feature paintings, sculptures, ceramics, and mixed media – from bold and colourful abstract pieces to intricate and detailed pieces – all inspired by the theme of joy.

Jaimie, a Birmingham-based abstract artist, takes inspiration from the vivid colours in nature, emotions evoked by music and the interplay of light and shadow to create compositions which are rich in texture and adorned with bold, vibrant colours.

Ginte, who has recently moved from Barcelona to Warwickshire, creates abstracts and ceramics which exude a sense of calmness and tranquility – with the aim of inspiring feelings of peace and serenity.

Jaimie, who is curating the exhibition, said: “We are thrilled to present this collaborative exhibition that celebrates the universal theme of joy through the lens of artists from Warwickshire.

“Art has the power to evoke emotions, inspire conversations, and bring people together, and we hope that this showcase will do just that.”

The exhibition takes place at Rugby Art Gallery and Museum’s Floor One Gallery from June 18 to 29. Visit www.ragm.co.uk/floor-one-gallery for more information.
