Kids at Rugby nursery get hands dirty during first Forest School session

CHILDREN at a Rugby nursery have been getting their hands dirty during their first Forest School session.

Little ones at Bright Horizons Rugby Day Nursery and Preschool enjoyed making mud pies and role-playing by melting marshmallows on the pretend fire in their outdoor school.

It was their first Forest School session, a concept which teaches children innovation, problem solving, risk taking, creativity and teamwork through practical activities in an outdoor environment.

Nursery Manager Laura Smith said: “Forest schools have many benefits to children’s holistic development, such as building the children’s self-awareness, independence and communication skills.”
