KIND-HEARTED pupils will be spreading joy this Christmas by handing out ‘Harris hampers’.
Pupils at Harris Church of England Academy will be preparing hampers of festive goodies to deliver on December 23 to families in need.
And they are urging residents to get involved by donating items including toiletries, winter clothes, sweets, chocolate and gift sets – or to donate funds towards a family’s Christmas dinner.
A spokeswoman said: “Due to this unprecedented time, everyone has been humbled with the severity of the pandemic – we all have sought the need for togetherness. The school felt a responsibility to tackle the issue and so launched ‘Harris hampers’.
“The initiative consists of preparing a hamper to deliver to families who are struggling during the Christmas period.
“Harris is committed to act on its values towards the less fortunate, especially during the pandemic.”
