CHEERY children have been spreading some Christmas joy around their neighbourhood.
Kids from Boughton Leigh Junior School took their message of goodwill around Brownsover on Friday (December 10).
They were inspired to think of kind words and messages to share with others during their English Reading and PSHE lessons, when they looked at an image called ‘Christmas Kindness’ by illustrator Lucy Burvant.
All children at the school wrote a message to share with the community, which were then taken out and delivered around the area.
Messages were tied to lampposts, hand-delivered to residents and sent to care homes in Rugby.
The school’s Head of Reading Hannah Owen said: “We are so proud of all of the children for recognising that, while the festive period is a happy time for many, there are some who find it a trickier time, perhaps feeling lonely or sad.
“The children have shown how kind, caring and compassionate they are within these messages, and we sincerely hope that they put a smile on everyone’s faces.
“Well done to all of the children for spreading some much-needed festive cheer this Christmas period.”
