STUDENTS at Lawrence Sheriff School have bucked the national trend, with a higher proportion of students achieving A* grades.
Almost a third of the school’s A-Level entries gained an A* – higher than in 2019 and 2021 – with 78 per cent at A*-B grade.
Six students gained entry to Oxbridge universities, and 20 students will progress to Medicine, Dentistry or Veterinary Science.
Three or more A* grades were achieved by 29 students, with three-quarters of students achieving at least one A* or A grade.
Students have achieved the grades needed to allow them to move on to university or apprenticeship.
Headteacher Teresa Mpofu said: “Our students should be very proud. Their hard work and determination has seen them overcome two years of disruption and uncertainty.
“They can now progress to university, apprenticeship or work with a fantastic set of results and a huge sense of achievement. They have been a wonderful group of students to work with and I am also incredibly grateful for the hard work of staff who have supported them.”
