THE bill for Rugby’s biggest ever live music event has been finalised with the announcement of two more acts.
Battered Soul and Matt Good complete the line-up for the Rugby Music Festival, which comes to Whitehall Recreation Ground on Saturday August 9.
The main stage of the free all-day festival is headlined by Dead Frequency, with support from White Men Can’t Funk and a guest act from Luton, Soul Rhymaz. Also appearing are Dexeter, Stonefire, Ferris, Battered Soul, The Rockolas, Tan.Trum, Unscripted and Speak Brother. Luciee Closier, a finalist on BBCs The Voice last year, will be opening the event.
The second stage, which is acoustic based and housed in a huge marquee tent, will be headlined by Rugby favourites Paper Street Soap Company.
They will be joined by Becki and The Dove, a new Rugby duo, another performance by Luciee Closier, Sophie De Battista and Coventry favourite Kristy Gallacher. Matt Good, Expendable Friend, Eve Singleton and Leanne Lal are also appearing, along with special guest Lucy Taylor.
David Head, one of the organisers, said: “So that’s boy band, pop, rockabilly, jazz-funk, soul, rock, glam-punk, funk-rock, merseybeat and more.
“What an an amazing mix of genres and an amazing pool of talent. There will be something to appeal to everyone.”
The festival’s charity collections will go towards medical research into an incurable condition called retinits pigmentosa which leaves sufferers blind – a condition that affects performer Lucy Taylor.
