Local bands to rock Rugby Bikefest

Rugby Editorial 27th Aug, 2021   0

A LINE-UP of local bands to provide a soundtrack to this year’s Rugby Bikefest has been announced.

Two music stages – in Market Place and Church Street – will keep the festival rocking on Sunday September 26.

Performing on the day will be Courthouse, Dead Frequency, Evade Escape, Jellyheads, Liquid Insanity, Overdrive, RudeSix, Synthmachine and White Men Can’t Funk.

There will also be music in Caldecott Park.

The free family festival also includes a ride-in, bike displays, stalls, children’s activities, a funfair and food.

And for the first time, this year’s Bikefest will feature the Ken Fox Wall of Death, which sees up to three bikers at a time ride around inside a 32ft-wide 16ft-high cylindrical wall, performing stunts and tricks while spectators look down from above.

Ryan Webster, BID Operations Manager for co-organisers Rugby First, said: “The music at Bikefest is always a big draw and this year I think we have got a great line-up of local bands and talented performers on display. A massive thanks to the creative team who have put the exciting programme together.

“Don’t forget if you want to join the very popular ride-in, you will need to register online. We are also still interested in hearing from stall holders or those interested in displaying their bike.”

The festival takes place in Rugby town centre from 10am to 4pm on Sunday September 26.
