Local groups have chance to go back to school

SPORTS and activity groups in need of a space to practice can go back to school.

Bilton School is offering their facilities – including astro turf pitch, activity studio, theatre and sports hall – for regular classes of one-off events.

Staff hope it will encourage pupils to take part in more after-school activities and help residents take up new hobbies.

The facilities will be managed for free by Schools Lettings Solutions (SLS) – who aim to generate extra income for schools and promote activities.

Bilton School principal Ranjit Samra, said: “We’re proud of the facilities we offer to our students, such as our activity studio and fitness suite, and it makes sense to us that they are not lying unused on evenings and weekends.

“The partnership with SLS will also help us to generate more income, which will be beneficial to students for years to come.

“We’ve already got some great partners signed up to use our facilities and we’re looking forward to getting more on board.”
