HUNDREDS of playful Rugbeians young and old flocked to a sunny Whitehall Recreation Ground yesterday (Wednesday August 3) for some fun and games.
They came to take part in a free National Play Day event hosted by Rugby Borough Council’s (RBC) Play Rangers.
Attractions included samba football, a climbing wall, a giant slide, trampolines, a bungee run, an inflatable obstacle course, a cork shooting gallery, mini golf and zorbing.
The Play Rangers team continue to hold free play sessions every Tuesday and Thursday during the school summer holidays, visiting parks with a range of themed activities. Sessions take place at Caldecott Park, GEC Recreation Ground, Cawston Grange Park and Long Lawford’s George V Field. Visit www.rugby.gov.uk/summerplay for dates and times for all play sessions.
RBC’s ongoing Summer Sport 2022 programme gives youngsters the chance to try a new sport or fine tune skills under the guidance of a qualified coach. Costs apply to all sessions. Visit www.rugby.gov.uk/summersport for more information and to book places.
