LOOK: Life's a beach in Rugby town centre

THE BEACH is back – in the unlikely location of Rugby town centre.

Rugbeians are enjoying some fun in the sun at the temporary beach in Market Place on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (August 21, 22 and 23).

Parents have been sitting back in deck chairs while their children get busy in the sand with buckets and spades.

It is part of Rugby Summertime, a programme of free family entertainment being organised by Rugby Borough Council.

Past events included a National Play Day event at Whitehall Recreation Ground, an outdoor cinema in Caldecott Park, and a live outdoor performance of The Tale of Peter Rabbit.

Ongoing events include a town centre trail which starts from Hunt’s Bookshop, and the KAPOW – The Art of Making Comics and Film exhibition at Rugby Art Gallery and Museum, which is also hosting a range of free superhero-themed activities.
