A MARVELLOUS time was had by hundreds of children and their parents at Rugby Art Gallery and Museum (RAGM) over the half-term week.
The venue held a series of activities and events themed around Roald Dahl’s beloved children’s novel George’s Marvellous Medicine.
The story follows George’s efforts to make a medicine to turn his mean and selfish grandma into a nicer person – but his potions end up causing her to grow gigantic, and then shrink away to nothing.
RAGM welcomed renowned professional storyteller John Kirk, who enthralled children with his theatrical reading of the story.
At the Curious Cures Roleplay Chemist Shop, kids dressed up, made their own x-rays and learnt interesting facts about the human body in a pretend chemist shop.
They embarked on a Mystical Potion Hunt, scouring the building to help a muddled magician to find his misplaced medicines.
And at a Colourful Concoctions craft session, they made extending paper grannies and paint-blowing pictures, and printed their own bold and colourful potion pictures using a concoction of paint, bubbles and foam.
