CHEERY children have been spreading some Christmas joy around their neighbourhood.

Kids from Boughton Leigh Junior School took festive messages of goodwill around Brownsover in the run-up to Christmas Day.

Inspired by Christmas adverts which focus on kindness and spreading joy, all children at the school wrote messages to share with the community, which were then taken out and delivered to the local residents and care home.

The school’s Head of Year 3, Shanice Hobday, said: “This year, we are hosting a Live Advent in school to count down to Christmas Day.

“In the same way as you open a traditional advent calendar with children in the run up to Christmas, we planned a fun event or activity to take place on each school day until the end of term. One of these activities was to spread Christmas kindness.

“We are so proud of the children for recognising that while the festive time of year is very happy for some, others find it trickier. The children all recognised that giving a message of kindness and love can be more powerful than gifts.

“Well done to all of the children for spreading some festive cheer during this Christmas period.”
