LOOK: Rugby fills up for Food Festival

FULL up – thousands flocked to Rugby town centre and were well fed at the Spring Food and Drink Festival.

The first major town centre event of the year featured flavours from around the world.

The free event, organised by Rugby First with support from St Andrew’s Church and Rugby Baptist Church, saw Regent Street replete with over 40 food stalls tempting passers-by with biltong, German sausages, Indian street food, Greek specialties, pork and chorizo burgers, flatbreads, gourmet brownies, Punjabi street food, cheeses, local honey and more, washed down with a selection of ales, gins and wines.

St Andrew’s Church garden hosted live music performances, community-led food stalls and family-friendly activities, while kids enjoyed a funfair, face painting and circus skills.

The next town centre event is the Rugby Bikefest on Sunday May 19, and the Food Festival returns for its Autumn outing on Saturday September 21.
