IT’S BEGINNING to look a lot like Christmas at St Andrew’s Church.
The town centre church has decked its halls with boughs of pine for its Christmas Tree Festival, which runs throughout December.
Charities, schools, community groups and care homes have decorated trees to the theme of ‘A Cosy Christmas’ – and lights, baubles and candles are casting a festive glow around the aisles.
Community arts group Hats Off knitted hats to decorate their tree. When the tree is taken down, the hats will be given away to premature babies and homeless people.
Children from Bizzy Tots Day Nursery made their own decorations using recycled materials, and a blanket was made from the children’s donated pre-loved clothes.
Other trees were decorated by The Inner Wheel Club of Rugby, Hillmorton Trefoil Guild, Harris Church of England Academy, Rugby Foodbank, Mothers’ Union, Pawprints Dog Rescue, The Friends of St Cross, Community Welcome CIC, Warwickshire Community and Voluntary Action, The Air Ambulance, Anya Court Care Home, Rokeby Primary School, Brooke School and Overslade House Care Home.
Everyone is welcome to go along and enjoy the trees, and vote for their favourites.
