A SWEET-natured dog who is becoming depressed after spending nearly eight months in kennels is hoping to find a home of his own in time for Christmas.
Staff at Rugby-based Pawprints Dog Rescue say they do not understand why loveable lucher Andre has not been adopted.
The three-year-old hound came to the rehoming centre after being found straying in Withybrook.
He loves people and likes to play with his toys and go on walks – and his favourite thing is to cuddle up on the sofa.
Pawprints spokeswoman Anita Twigger says staff are desperate to find Andre a home in time for Christmas.
She said: “This long term stay in kennels has begun to wear Andre down and we would love to see him in a home of his own by December 25.
“He is a really good dog, he loves humans, walks and the occasional mad run.
“What he really misses is a sofa in a warm spot in a home. He is a real snugglebug who has thought of nothing else for more than eight months.
“Could you be his person or people? You would be adopting a whole lot of love with Andre.”
Andre is housetrained, walks well on the lead but would benefit from some extra training while out walking.
He needs a pet free home, with children over the age of nine.
