A ‘LOYAL’ and ‘loving’ dog who had a traumatic start in life is looking for a place to put his paws up.
Ten-year-old Tiger was nearly feral when he was taken in by Pawprints Dog Rescue in Rugby last year.
The Jack Russell was living in terrible conditions with three other dogs and was terrified of humans.
But after being shown love and affection by Pawprints volunteers he has started to come out of his shell and is now ready to experience his first home with a foster owner.
Despite the best efforts of the charity they have had no luck finding the right kind of home for Tiger – and now they are appealing to Observer readers who feel they could help to get in touch.
Charity spokeswoman Anita Twigger said: “I feel really sad for Tiger. We have been trying to find him the right foster home but have had no luck.
“He has so much love to give and the loyalty that a formerly traumatised dog gives is just unlimited. I know there is a retired person out there with a heart as big as Tiger’s.”
The pup needs a home which is child and pet free, quiet and has someone home most of the time.
As he has never lived in a home before he will need to be gently housetrained, but the charity says it will offer full support including a behaviourist if one is needed. It will also cover all costs including food and vet bills.
Anita added: “Tiger was almost feral when he came to us and it has taken a long time to build trust of humans. He still gets scared of new situations and will need a calm and kind person to teach him how to live in a home environment.
“Of course, it is more than possible the fosterer may fall in love and we would absolutely consider them for adoption once we feel Tiger is ready to take this step.
“The person who fosters Tiger will also have contact with adopters who have already been through this process with another dog from the same place Tiger is from and they have made a formerly traumatised dog a happy and playful, loving soul.
“If you feel you are the right person to help and rescue Tiger in every sense of the word then please help undo the wrong that previous humans caused and become a unique fosterer.”
