THE LIGHTS in Lutterworth will herald the start of the Christmas season when they are switched on at the end of the month.

The town’s annual Christmas Lights Switch On event is taking place on Friday November 29 from 6-8pm.

It will feature Santa’s grotto, Lutterworth Town Band, a fun fair, mulled wine and a hog roast.

On-stage family entertainment will be hosted by Cross Counties Radio, followed by the Christmas Lights Switch-On at 7.30pm, and rounded off with the traditional fireworks display.

A Christmas Market will feature themed stalls on the market square and in the Town Hall, selling a range of Christmas gifts and treats from 3.30-8pm.

The A426 in Lutterworth will be closed to through traffic – from the junction with Bill Crane Way to the junction with St Johns Business Park – from 5-9pm. Local traffic will be diverted around the town centre, with no vehicular movement between the Woodburner Workshop and Misterton Way.

Volunteer marshals, with local knowledge to help with directions and road closures, are wanted for the event. Contact Lutterworth Town Council on 01455 550225 or email [email protected] for further details or to volunteer.
