A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of two bank robberies in Nuneaton and Rugby.
It follows a incident on Thursday (October 8) at the Royal Bank of Scotland in Church Street, where a man threatened staff with a bladed weapon and demanded money before leaving on foot.
A second incident took place at the Royal Bank of Scotland on Queen’s Street in Nuneaton today (Monday October 12) around 11.15am when a cashier was threatened with a weapon and ordered to hand over cash.
No one was injured during either incident but a substantial amount of cash was taken.
A 41-year-old was arrested in Nuneaton town centre shortly after the incident today (Monday) and is currently in police custody.
Cash and a weapon have been recovered by police.
