Man charged in connection with suspected stabbing on New Year's Day

A MAN has been charged with wounding and causing grievous bodily harm with intent following an incident in Broughton Astley on Wednesday January 1.

James Green, 31, has also been charged with possession of a bladed article in connection with the incident, which happened in Main Street during the early hours of New Year’s Day.

A 47-year-old man was taken to hospital with a stab wound following the incident. He has since been discharged from hospital.

Green, of no fixed address, has been remanded into custody and is due to appear at Leicester Magistrates Court today (Monday January 6).
