Man fights for life after being found with stab wound in Rugby town centre

A MAN is fighting for his life after being found with a stab wound to the chest in Rugby town centre.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses after being called to Church Street around 4.40pm on Friday afternoon.

The victim was found near the junction with Railway Terrace. His injuries are described as life threatening.

Det Sgt Mark Calvert from Rugby Serious and Complex Crime Team said: “This investigation is in its very early stages. We have reports the victim was involved in an altercation with a number of other males prior to suffering the stab wound. We’re keen to speak to anyone who witnessed this incident or has any other information that could help with our enquiries.”




Anyone with information that could help police with their investigation should call 101 quoting incident 318. Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
