A MAN has been jailed for growing cannabis in Rugby.
Acting on intelligence that a building in Bawnmore Road was being used to grow cannabis, police raided the address to find four rooms full of cannabis plants.
Officers seized 167 established plants and further 229 young plants.
On entry they arrested Yugert Stafa.
Stafa, 26, of no fixed abode, was jailed for eight months at Warwick Crown Court on Tuesday October 3, having pleaded guilty to producing cannabis.
Det Cons Chris Batchelder from Rugby Proactive CID said: “This was a significant find that could have sold for more than half a million pounds.
“I’d like to thank local people who provided intelligence that helped us take these drugs off the streets and to stop people from profiting from this illicit trade.”
